Hans-Heinrich Winkler

Hans -Heinrich Winkler ( born November 14, 1954 in Raschau ) is a former German luger.

Winkler started for the SC tractor Oberwiesenthal and counted in the mid-1970s, a world leader in the Luge Men's Singles. At the Junior European Championship 1972 in Kufstein, he finished third behind Bernd Hahn and Anton Winkler. In 1974, he won behind Hans Rinn and Horst Müller the bronze medal at the East German championships, finishing in sixth place at the Luge World Cup in 1974 in Koenigssee. The European Luge Championships 1976 in Hammarstrand he was behind his teammates from the GDR Wolfram Fiedler and the Swede Michael Gardebäck also third. At the Olympic Winter Games in Innsbruck in 1976, he reached the fourth place behind Dettlef Günther, Josef Fendt and Hans Rinn. 1977 again won a bronze medal at the East German Championships Series winner Rinn and Günther.

Winkler later moved to Torgau and successfully contested competitions in the Veterans sledding.
