Hans Van Alphen

Hans Van Alphen, Hans van Alphen, ( born January 12, 1982 in Turnhout ) is a Belgian decathlete.

Van Alphen in 2002 took the first time in a decathlon part, he was Belgian Champion 2005. In 2007, he surpassed second in the Universiade with 8047 points, the 8000 -point mark at the 2007 World Championships, he finished with 8034 points in eleventh place. In 2008 he gave up in the Olympics after four disciplines. In 2010 he finished with 8072 points in fifth place at the European Championships. Van Alphen won the 2012 all-around meeting Götzis and improved where his Belgian national record from last year by 319 points. In London, it should again not enough for the Belgians at the 2012 Olympic Games to a medal. He was beaten almost in the fight for the bronze Cuban Leonel Suarez, van Alphen finished with 8447 points in fourth place.

He is 1.91 meters tall, his competition weight is 88 kilograms.
