Hardanger fjord at Bergsto
Ulvikfjord, an arm of the Hardangerfjord
The Hardanger Fjord (Norwegian: Hardangerfjorden ) is an approximately 170 km long fjord on the southwest Atlantic coast of Norway in Hordaland Fylke.
Some of the larger islands such as Stord, Bømlo and Tysnesøy precede the fjord. The fjord runs roughly from southwest to northeast. In the fjord there is a larger island, Varaldsøy. The deepest point is 725 meters deep and is located approximately at the point where the Hardangerfjord in the smaller fjords Eidfjord and Bosvik shares.
The region around the Hardanger fjord is also called Hardanger.
