Hardie Scott

Hardie Scott ( born June 7, 1907 in Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania; † 2 November 1999) was an American politician. Between 1947 and 1953 he represented the State of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Hardie Scott was the son of Congressman John Roger Kirkpatrick Scott ( 1873-1945 ). He attended until 1926 Taft School in Watertown (Connecticut). This was followed up in 1930 to study at Yale University. After a subsequent law studies at the University of Pennsylvania and his 1934 was admitted to the bar he began to work in this profession. Politically, he was a member of the Republican Party.

In the congressional elections of 1946, Scott was in the third electoral district of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he succeeded the Democrats Michael J. Bradley on 3 January 1947. After two re- election he was able to complete in Congress until January 3, 1953 three legislative periods. These were shaped by the events of the Cold War and the Korean War.

1952 renounced Hardie Scott on another candidacy. In the following years he is no longer politically have appeared.
