Harry Entwistle

Harry Entwistle ( born May 31, 1940 in Chorley, United Kingdom) is a former Anglican bishop and since 2012 a Roman Catholic priest and professor of staff Ordinariate of Our Lady of the Southern Cross.

Life

Harry Entwistle studied at St. Chad's Theological College, University of Durham, and was ordained in the Diocese of Blackburn Church of England on September 20, a priest in 1964. He then worked for the communities Fleetwood, Hardwick, Weedon, Aston Abbotts and Cubligton, 1974-1981 chaplain and chaplain of Her Majesty's Prison Service and 1981-1988 Senior Chaplain of Her Majesty's Prison Wansworth. In 1988 he emigrated to Australia and became Senior Chaplain of the Department of Corrective Services in the Diocese of Perth. In 2006, he joined the Traditional Anglican Communion, and was consecrated on 24 November 2006 in St. Peter in Adelaide along with David Robarts by Archbishop John Hepworth to the bishop; Co-consecrators were Tolowa Nona SSC, Bishop of the Church of Torres Strait, the assistant bishops Sania Townson and David Chislett and Arthur Stanley Goldsworthy, the former Anglican Bishop of Bunbury. Entwistle was an assistant bishop of the Archbishop of the Diocese of the Anglican Catholic Church in Australia Australia is responsible for the District of Western Australia and was pastor until 2012 in Maylands, Perth.

Harry Entwistle is married to Jean Barrett Polts since 1967 and has two children.

Conversion to the Catholic Church

Harry Entwistle converted from the Church of England to the Roman Catholic Church.
