Timothy Costelloe

Timothy Costelloe SDB ( born February 3, 1954 in Melbourne ) is an Australian religious priests and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Perth.

He went first in Melbourne to St. Peter's in the East Bentleigh area and to the Salesian College in Chadstone. He first worked as a teacher at Christ College in Melbourne before 1977 the Salesians of Don Bosco joined. In 1978 he was still graduated from Christ College. After he completed his philosophical and theological studies, and had taken final vows in the Congregation of the Salesians of Don Bosco on September 8, 1985, he was ordained by Archbishop Thomas Francis Little on October 25, 1986 priests.

After three more years at the Salesian College in Chadstone, he went to the Pontifical Salesian University and graduated there in 1991, a licentiate in theology from. On his return to Melbourne, he lectured at the Catholic Theological College in Melbourne. From 1996 to Costelloe served as pastor of St. Joachim, Victoria Park, Perth. At the same time he taught at the University of Notre Dame Australia in Fremantle. After he had completed his PhD at the Melbourne College of Divinity, 1999, he became rector of the Salesian office in Melbourne and was teaching at the Catholic Theological College. From 2006 he also served as pastor of St. John the Baptist in the Clifton Hill District from 2007 also of St. Joseph in the Collingwood area. During this time Costelloe has also held several offices in the Upper religious community.

On 30 April 2007 he became Pope Benedict XVI. appointed auxiliary bishop in the Archdiocese of Melbourne and Titular Bishop of Cluain Iraird and on June 15, 2007 by Archbishop Denis Hart and dedicated to the co-consecrators George Cardinal Pell and Archbishop Ambrose Battista De Paoli bishop. He put his focus in the diocese and in the Australian Bishops' Conference of the Catholic education and taught at the Australian Catholic University. His last participation in an ad limina visit was in October 2011.

20 February 2012, he was named Benedict XVI. Archbishop of Perth. The installation took place on 21 March 2012. He succeeds Archbishop Barry James Hickey. On 15 June 2012, he dedicated the former Anglican bishop in the Archdiocese of Australia assistant Harry Entwistle, who had converted to the Roman Catholic Church, the Roman Catholic priest and appointed him as professor of Pope Benedict XVI. founded on the same day Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of the Southern Cross.

On 29 June 2012, he received along with 46 other archbishops of Pope Benedict XVI. Rome presents the pallium. On the occasion of this stay in Rome he visited on 4 July 2012, the University of the Salesians of Don Bosco.
