Denis Hart

Denis James Hart ( born May 16, 1941 in Melbourne) is Archbishop of Melbourne.

Life

The Bishop of Sale, Arthur Francis Fox, ordained him priest on 23 August 1975. Pope John Paul II appointed him on 10 November 1997 as Titular Bishop of Vagada and Auxiliary Bishop of Melbourne.

The Archbishop of Melbourne, George Pell, donated to him on 9 December of the same year, the episcopal ordination; Were co-consecrators Hilton Forrest Deakin, Auxiliary Bishop of Melbourne, and Thomas Francis Little, retired Archbishop of Melbourne.

On 22 June 2001 he was appointed Archbishop of Melbourne and introduced into the office on 1 August of the same year.
