Harry Todd

Harry Todd ( born December 13, 1863 in Allegheny, Pennsylvania, † February 15, 1935 in Glendale, California ) was an American actor, known for comedies and westerns directed by and starring Gilbert M. Anderson.

Life

Todd worked for Essanay in 1909, mostly under the direction of Gilbert M. Anderson in comedies and westerns. Besides Victor Potel, Augustus Carney ( until its progress to Universal Studios ) and his future wife, Margaret Joslin he played from 1911 to 1917 76 times the character of Mustang Pete in the Snake Ville- Western comedies.

In the next few years he played for various film companies supporting roles in films of all genres, but mostly in B- westerns. He has appeared in some of Harold Lloyd Lonesome Luke films and Hal Roach in the Toto movies Armado Novello. Among the film directors who used Todd in the 1920s, included John Ince, King Vidor, WS Van Dyke, John Ford, Michael Curtiz and Lionel Barrymore and especially Richard Thorpe and Edward Sedgwick. Gradually Todd's roles were small and in most of his films in the 1930s, he was no longer listed in the credits.
