Harry Warner

Harold "Harry" Morris Warner (birth name: Hirsz Wonsal; born December 12, 1881 in Krasnosielc today: Poland, † July 25, 1958 in Hollywood, California ) was a native of Poland, American film producer, who at the Oscar ceremony in 1939 with a honorary Oscar was awarded.

Life

Born as Harold Eichelbaum in Poland Warner was the oldest of twelve children, who immigrated with her parents to the United States. Together with his younger brother Samuel, he founded in 1903 as a cinema and soon after, a company that vorführte at fairs films. From 1910, the film distribution company Warner's Features, Inc., which in 1915 was reorganized as United movie service.

1918 founded Harry and Sam with the other brothers Jack and Albert her first film studio on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles, and finally the Warner Bros.
