Hartmut Bagger

Hartmut excavator ( born July 17, 1938 in Brown Mountain, East Prussia ) is a retired general of the Army of the Bundeswehr. He was from 1994 to 1996 Chief of Staff Army and was last 1996-1999 Inspector General of the Bundeswehr.

Military career

Training and first commands

East Prussia had to leave excavator 1945 with a displaced trek and spent his childhood near Celle. After graduation he joined in 1958 in the service of the Armed Forces and was trained as an officer cadet in the Panzer Grenadier squad. In 1960 he was promoted to lieutenant and had uses as a platoon leader and telecommunications officer in the Infantry Battalion 82 in Lüneburg, and as an auditorium and ordnance officer at the Army Officers' School I in Hanover. Five years later, excavators served from 1965 to 1969, promoted to captain, a company commander of the Luneburg Battalion. Subsequently, he was transferred to Hamburg and graduated from the local Staff College from 1969 to 1971 the General Staff Officer Course. He was then promoted to Major, added to Neumünster and served as staff officer for logistics and operations (G4, G3) at the armored brigade 18 for it to go off again to Hamburg and to teach at the National War College as a lecturer in military policy. After he graduated in Norfolk, Virginia, one Armed Forces Staff College Course.

From 1976 to 1978 he took over as the Lieutenant Colonel Infantry Battalion 51 in Rotenburg an der Fulda. After this command troops, he was transferred to Bonn to the Ministry of Defense and served there until 1980 as a speaker. From April 1980 to September 1982, excavators, promoted to colonel, used in Buxtehude as Chief of Staff of the 3rd Panzer Division under the command of Major-General Franz- Joachim von Roddenberry. Service in the rank of general

After Helge Hansen, his chief of staff excavator in Koblenz was, had taken over the post of Inspector of the Army on 1 March 1992, he made excavator, now promoted to Lieutenant General, 1 April 1992 as his deputy. As Hansen was designated after only two years for the NATO post of Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces Central Europe, took excavator on 21 March 1994 the post of Army Inspector and continued the structural changes in the course of the army structure V has already begun. Therefore excavator surrendered on February 6, 1996 the post of Army Inspector Helmut Willmann and took over on February 8, under appointment as General, the Office of the Inspector General of Naumann and this led to his retirement on 31 March 1999.

He then became president of the Association of Defence and Security Policy, resigned from the office but in 2000 due to internal problems back.

Excavator lives in Mecke (Rheinland ), is married and has two sons, one of which is the diplomat Thomas excavator. He plays piano concert ripe and used his great solo or in collaboration with orchestras of the Bundeswehr.
