Hawkins Field is an airport located in Jackson, the capital of the U.S. state of Mississippi.

History

The town of Jackson bought in 1928 for $ 53,500 151 acre pasture order to set up an airfield. The inauguration of the country specified by the previously located there farm as Davis Field course took place on November 9. The first scheduled flight of Delta Air Lines led on June 17, 1929 by Love Field in Dallas to Davis Field - with stops in Shreveport and Monroe.
