Head over Heals is the third music album of the singer Paula Abdul from the year 1995.

Background

Paula Abdul released her third music album Head over Heels on June 13, 1995, Virgin Records, after Abdul had been struggling with a disease of bulimia, which she held for four years of her career. Abdul hoped with their comeback album again to land in the spotlight of the music scene. However, this album was the last one, which she published in her career, later, Abdul withdrew from the music business and devoted himself to acting.

For Head over Heels Abdul commissioned new producers and executed a change of style for Contemporary R & B songs on the album have a stronger R & B influence, as Abdul's earlier work. The first single My Love Is For Real gave critics and fans a taste of their new R & B style, the reviews were for the single and the album mixed, not like the predecessor, which have always been praised by critics.

Criticism

Many music critics saw in Head over Heels withdrawal from Abdul roots of pop music, in turn, saw some critics in this album their most exciting and most creative album of their career. Praise also have been " quieter " songs on the album, which are not comparable with the sound of its predecessor.

The song reached also the only song in her career No. 1 on the American dance charts. The second single Crazy Cool was due to lack of promotion a flop and only reached number 58 on the Billboard Hot 100 your last single Is not Never Gonna Give You Up missed the Billboard Hot 100 even so the song was another flop, and the least successful single in her career. The original intention was If I Were Your Girl to be released as a single, but by the failure of the album and not Never Gonna Give You Up Abdul thought no longer to publish and withdrew completely from the music business.
