Heather Juergensen

Life and achievements

Juergensen grew up in Brooklyn and graduated in 1987 from high school. Her first movie role in the short film The Afterlife of Grandpa, who was awarded a special prize of the festival WorldFest Houston. After she completed a degree in psychology at McGill University and worked for a time in the advertising industry. Together with Jennifer Westfeldt wrote the play Lipschtick in which both women appeared in the leading roles of a lesbian lovers. The piece was filmed as a comedy Kissing Jessica Stein, in the Juergensen and Westfeldt the same roles were as in the play; they also wrote the screenplay and produced it with the movie. They received in 2001 a special prize from the Los Angeles IFP / West Film Festival and was nominated for the screenplay for the Independent Spirit Award in 2003.

In the film drama Red Roses and Petrol Juergensen played alongside Malcolm McDowell one of the major roles. In the comedy The Hammer she played a larger role, they also produced the film with. In the comedy The Suzy Prophecy she took over the title role, also she directed, wrote and produced the film.
