Heaven Lake

The Heaven Lake is a crater lake in the Changbai Mountains on the border between North Korea and the People's Republic of China. It lies on the border between China's Jilin Province and the North Korean province Ryanggang -do. On the Chinese side, he belongs to the area of the circle Fusong the prefecture-level city Baishan.

The lake lies in a summit caldera of the active volcano Baitoushan ( Paektusan ) [Note 2] at an altitude of 2,189 m. It is one of the highest, largest and deepest crater lakes in the world. Its area is 9.82 km ², it is 373 meters deep.
