Heinz Kiehl

Heinz Kiehl ( born June 6, 1943 in Oggersheim ) is a former German wrestler.

Career

Heinz Kiehl's father was for many years Chairman of the heavy athletics clubs KSV Oggersheim at Ludwigshafen. So it is no surprise that Filius Heinz already started at a young age with this club with the rings. He was very talented and has already won in the youth and junior level everything that was to win at the national level. Already at age 20, he participated in the World Championships. His greatest achievement was winning the Olympic bronze medal in 1964 in Tokyo. At this great success Heinz could not quite match in subsequent years, but always delivered open and fair fights. With the VfK Schiffer city, to which he had changed in the meantime, he won the 1971 German team championship and stood with his idol Wilfried Dietrich in a team. The German Masters title he won eleven times in two styles.

Heinz Kiehl, who trained as a machinist, was also trained in physical education teacher and spent over 30 years working as such at the main school in Ludwigshafen- Edigheim.
