Heitor Pereira
Heitor Teixeira Pereira ( born November 29 ) is a Brazilian musician and film composer. He worked with, among others, with musicians such as Elton John, Seal, Rod Stewart and Willie Nelson. Pereira played from 1988 to 1996 as a guitarist in the band Simply Red
Life and work
Pereira was born into a family of musicians and studied in Rio de Janeiro guitar and composition.
In addition to his career as a musician Pereira worked as a film composer, at first only for additional music ( for Welcome to the Jungle, The Pledge ), since 2001 as the main composer. Pereira has been with Remote Control Productions, he has worked with Hans Zimmer, Harry Gregson- Williams, Klaus Badelt and Rupert Gregson- Williams. In addition, Pereira is for many film compositions as a soloist level (such as Pirates of the Caribbean - At World's End or the sound of the heart). Pereira now lives with his wife and two children in California.
Social Commitment
Heitor Pereira supports the rights of the Awá Indians in Brazil, whose home is threatened by illegal logging. So he composed, among others, for the human rights organization Survival International, the film music for a video about the Awá.
