Helsingborg Municipality

Helsingborg is a municipality (Swedish kommun ) in the southern Swedish province of Skåne County and the historical province Scania. The main town of the municipality is Helsingborg.

Helsingborg ( Helsingborgs stad ) is one of the thirteen municipalities in Sweden, instead of kommun use the term stad (city) for its entire municipal area.

Neighboring communities

History

When the municipal constitution came into force in 1863, today the municipality in 15 parishes was divided around the city of Helsingborg ( socknar ). In the course of several reforms, the parishes were increasingly merged. Finally, the present-day municipality was created in 1971 from the merger of the city Hälsingborg with four rural communities. Here, the original spelling Helsingborg was also reintroduced after it was changed in 1912 in Helsingborg.

Policy

As of the year 2006, the Council of the municipality of Helsingborg ( kommunfullmäktige ) is performed pensionärers intresseparti jointly by the so-called " Civil Alliance" of Conservatives, Christian Democrats, and the Liberal and Centre Sveriges.
