Henry I, Count of Nassau-Beilstein

Henry I of Nassau- Beilstein (* June 11, 1323; † between October 28, 1378, February 24, 1380 ) was 1343 bis 1378/80 Count of Nassau - Beilstein.

Life

Henry was the eldest son of Count Henry I of Nassau-Siegen and Adelheid of Heinberg and Blankenberg. Originally intended for the ecclesiastical career, he was a canon in Cologne, Koblenz and Speyer, but soon turned back to the laity to.

When Henry I died of Nassau- Siegen in 1343, the County of Nassau - Siegen was divided between his two sons. The elder, Henry, Beilstein, Menger churches, Liebenscheid and the reign of the Westerwald received and became the founder of the existing line to 1561 Nassau- Beilstein. His younger brother Otto was Siegen, Dillenburg, Haiger and Lohnberg and was the progenitor of the line of Nassau- Dillenburg.

Henry married in 1339 Meyna ( Imagina ) of Westerburg († 1380 ). The couple had three children:
