Henry XI of Głogów

Heinrich XI. (C. 1429-1435; † February 22, 1476 ) was from 1469 to 1476 Duke of Glogau and of Crossen and Frey city. With him went the direct line of the Silesian Piast Glogau.

Life

Henry XI. Parents were Duke Henry IX. of Glogau and Hedwig, daughter of Duke Konrad III. of oil. After the death of his father in 1467, inherited Heinrich, who had no other siblings whose areas. They consisted of the ducal share of Glogau and the spun-off from this part duchies Crossen and Frey city. On October 11, 1472 married the then 40 -year-old Heinrich XI. with the first eight years of Barbara of Brandenburg, daughter of Elector Albrecht Achilles. After Heinrich XI. died four years later, the Glogau succession dispute was sparked, was involved in the next Barbara's father of Saganer Duke John II of Bohemia and ruler King Vladislav II and the ruling on anti-king Matthias Corvinus Silesia. The war of succession was settled only on September 20, 1482 with the Peace of Kamenz.
