Life

Wladislaus parents were Duke Boleslaw I. and Euphemia of Masovia. In 1444 he married Margareta of Celje.

After the death of his father Boleslaw I. Wladislaus inherited along with his brothers Wenceslas I, II and Boleslaw II Primislaus its possession. Since they were not yet of age, they were initially under the tutelage of her mother, who also exercised the regency over the duchy to 1442. Following the division this year Wladislaus received the " Royal " half of Glogau, which his grandfather had Primislaus I. inheritance rights received in 1384 by the Czech King Wenceslas.

In 1452 he owned in a Quaritz by the Emperor Frederick III. lent inches. In 1458 he founded in Kainzen at Guhrau the Franciscan monastery. Like his brother Primislaus was also Wladislaus a follower of the Bohemian King George of Podiebrad. At his side he fought against the Breslauer, who were led by their captain Balthasar von Sagan. During the siege of the city, he was severely wounded on October 1, 1459 and died on 14 February 1460th

Since he had no children, his territory, the royal half of Glogau, as jointure passed to his widow Margareta of Celje. She died in 1480 in the Guhrauer castle, where they had fled because of Glogau succession dispute. The 'royal' half of Glogau was permanently lost in the same year for the Dukes of Cieszyn.
