Henryk Jabłoński

Henryk Jabłoński [ xɛnrɨk jabwɔɲsk ʲ i] (* December 27 1909 in Waliszew at Łowicz; † January 27, 2003 in Warsaw) was a Polish communist politician and historian.

He studied history and in 1931 a member of the Polish Socialist Party ( PPS). During the Second World War he fought at Narvik, among others, and actively supported the French Resistance. After the war, he soon entered for the association of PPS and PPR to the Polish United Workers Party and in 1947 deputy in the Sejm (up to 1972). From 1948 to 1981 he was a member of the Central Committee of the PZPR, 1971-1981 also of the Politburo. Governments he belonged from 1965 to 1966 as Minister of Higher Education and from 1966 to 1972 as Minister of Education and Higher Education. In this capacity, he signed the decree on the relegation of demonstrating students of the universities after the March riots in 1968. Initiated Edward Gierek Jabłoński was appointed in 1972 to the Council of State of the Polish People's Republic and held that office about the breaks the years 1980/1981 away until 1985, when he was replaced by Wojciech Jaruzelski.

Along the way, he served since 1948 as a professor of history at the University of Warsaw in 1952 at the Polish Academy of Sciences ( PAN), which dealt primarily with questions of the parties and contemporary history.
