Heretic (Band)

Heretic is an American power and thrash metal band from Los Angeles, California, founded in 1985, disbanded in 1988 and was re- founded in 2011. Some members of the band were and are active in groups like Hirax, Metal Church and Reverend.

History

The band was founded in 1985. Shortly after, the band reached a deal with Metal Blade Records and a year later to listen to the sampler Metal Massacre VII. In the same year also the EP Torture Knows No Boundary appeared. Their first and only album followed in 1988 and was called Breaking Point. The album was produced by Bill Metoyer and Kurdt Vanderhoof. In the same year the band broke up again. In 2011, the band was back together again.

Style

The band plays a mix of power and thrash metal and is compared with the band Armored Saint.
