Hermann Ohlicher

Hermann Ohlicher ( born November 2, 1949 in Bruggen ) is a former German football player. He played 318 league games and scored 96 goals.

Ohlicher started his professional career in 1973 at Stuttgart as a striker and finished it as a midfield organizer and team captain in 1985 at the same club. In 1984, he was with this German master, before 1979 runner-up, after he had in 1975 and from 1977 - ascended with VfB in the 2nd Bundesliga again and had qualified in the subsequent season for the UEFA Cup.

Career

Beginning at VfB Stuttgart

In the summer of 1973, the former amateur player Hermann Ohlicher moved from Upper Swabia FV Ravensburg to VfB Stuttgart. Ohlicher was in his first season in the Bundesliga in 1973/74 in 33 games in action, scoring 17 goals. In the relegation season 1974/75 he played in all 34 games and came again on 17 goals. He remained in the 2nd league in the club. In the rise of 1976/77 season Ohlicher shot 15 goals. Ohlicher in the first season was changed back after the climb to the side of Hansi Müller in the midfield, where he scored eleven goals. In the season 1983/84 Hermann Ohlicher was, inter alia, on the side of Asgeir Sigurvinsson with his German champion VfB. In the decisive match in Bremen on Matchday 33 he shot in the 83rd minute of the 2-1 victory. Since the HSV lost simultaneously against Frankfurt, VfB was for the first time after 1952 again at the top.

European Cup

In his first season played Hermann Ohlicher with VfB Stuttgart in the UEFA Cup in 1973/74. After victories over Nicosia, Tatran Prešov, Dynamo Kiev and Vitória Setúbal you reached the semifinals, where different VfB out to eventual winners Feyenoord Rotterdam. Ohlicher scored seven goals in nine games. In the 1978/79 season Hermann Ohlicher posted on November 22, 1978 in the third round of the UEFA Cup against Dukla Prague 4-1 the fourth goal, the return match in Prague Stuttgart lost 0-4 and was eliminated. In the Europa Cup season Ohlicher reached with the VfB even again the semi-finals of the UEFA Cup, where they failed in the German duel at Borussia Moenchengladbach. After the championship win in 1984, he took with Stuttgart 1984/85 on the European Champions Cup in part and failed in the first round at Levski Sofia.

Life after professional career

In the summer of 1985 Hermann Ohlicher ended his career at VfB Stuttgart. He is with his 318 Bundesliga matches and 96 goals and 72 games in the 2 Bundesliga with 30 goals as a major player of VfB Stuttgart.

Today he lives with his wife Heather and children in Esslingen, where he is responsible for 340 Toto lottery agencies as District Director of the Neckar -Alb GmbH. He golft regularly and has a handicap of 3.5.
