Hervé Regout

Hervé Regout (* November 4, 1954 in Liège ) is a Belgian former racing driver.

Monopostosport

The Walloon Regout drove his first international car racing in the British Formula 3 Championship mid -1970s. 1979 tried to put one foot on a commitment to the Aurora AFX Formula 1 series in the formula. For RAM Racing, he played a few rounds of the season on a Chevron B42 in this championship; but remained largely unsuccessful. The Rivet Supply Trophy in May 1979 in Thruxton, he left in the third round after an engine failure. The race in Zandvoort, he finished in 12th and thus out of the points. There were other failures and poor placements.

In 1981 he drove for Bertram Schäfer still a race in the Formula 2 European Championship, he concentrated on his career as a sports car racer.

Career in sports car racing

In contrast to our failure Monopostorennen the career of Belgian sports car racing developed successfully. His first sports car races he contested in the 1970s at national club races in Belgium. In 1979 he joined the 24-hour race in Spa -Francorchamps at the start and was in 1980 with the tenth overall its debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

After his involvement with Charles Pozzi in 1983 he signed a contract with Upper Meier Racing and scored for the German racing team until 1986, many results in the top Teen in the World Sportscar Championship. In 1987 he moved to Courage Compétition and achieved third place overall in 1987 his best result at Le Mans.

Professionally drove Regout to 1998 car races and then retired from racing. In 2010 he was in two races of the Grand Prix Masters a comeback and drives Porsche since 2011 962 historic Group C race.
