History

The monastery was Wessobrunn as a basic rule in the whole municipality Hofstettens of importance until the secularization in 1803. The community part Hagenheim is already known in the Middle Ages as Wessobrunner possession; since 1403 the church of the monastery Hagenheim was incorporated ( previously pin Habach ). Hofstetten belonged to Rentamt Munich and the court Landsberg of the Electorate of Bavaria. In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria emerged with the community of 1818 the municipalities Hofstetten and Hagenheim. They joined on 1 January 1972 along with the new community Hofstetten.

Hagenheim after the war was one of the first municipalities in Bavaria, who introduced a coat of arms. This coat of arms was slightly amended in train the community pooling and now serves the representation of the community Hofstetten. The old original coat of arms exists but continue, but may be used only by Hagen Heimer associations and citizens.
