The NATO Air Hohn is a military airbase of the Luftwaffe of the Bundeswehr. The airfield is located in Schleswig -Holstein in the community scorn near Rendsburg. On this air base, the Air Transport Squadron 63 is stationed.

History

With the construction of the airport began in 1938 with the help of the Reich Labour Service and the Luftwaffenbaubataillon. The first phase was completed in 1940. Further expansion took place primarily by Russian prisoners of war, but could not be completed by the end of the war, only the main runway, which runs east-west direction, was completed. A second runway was under construction, a third in the planning stage.

After the war the airfield was taken over by the Royal Air Force and demilitarized until April 1946. Since 1967, the Air Transport Squadron 63 (LTG 63) is stationed at the airfield mockery. Following the realignment of the Bundeswehr was decided that the air base is closed and the LTG 63 is dissolved.
