Holstein is a city in Ida County in the western part of the U.S. state of Iowa. Holstein has 1470 inhabitants ² in an area of ​​3.8 km. The population density is 392.3/km ². Holstein is affected by U.S. Highway 59 and is located near the border with Cherokee County.

History

1882 Iowa Holstein was founded by German immigrants, after 1868 some farmers had settled there. 1876 ​​was followed by other German settlers from New Holstein, Wisconsin.
