Hooman Khalatbari

Hooman Khalatbari (* April 16 in Tehran ) is an Iranian pianist and conductor.

Khalatbari received his first piano lessons at age six. He studied musicology, piano and graduated in 1996 his studies at the Tehran University of Art successfully. From 1988 to 1996 he was assistant to the Tehran Philharmonic Choir and the Tehran Philharmonic Orchestra from 1993 to 1996, assistant at BCC Choir and Orchestra and the Youth Philharmonic Orchestra at the Austrian Cultural Institute ( ÖKI ) in Tehran. 1997 to 2006 he studied conducting at the university of arts in choral, orchestral and opera.

Khalatbari attended various master classes with Zubin Mehta, Ivan Fischer and Thomas Christian David.

Career

Already in his studies, he also worked extensively with contemporary music. He worked as a conductor, soloist, chamber musician, song accompanist and vocal coach for various television and CD productions and premieres ( " Black Earth" by Klaus Huber in Basel theater, "Dry Clean Show" by Wolfgang Mitterer at the Styrian Autumn in Graz and " Pollicino " by Hans Werner Henze, " Agleia spring White " by Gerd Kühr, "Peter Pan" by Wilfried Hiller and " Noah's Flood " by Benjamin Britten in the Next Liberty in Graz) with. His concert performances have taken him to several European cities, in the USA, Canada and Asia. Most recently, he was engaged as a conductor in Paris, London and Vancouver.

From 1999 to 2002 he served as assistant conductor, second conductor and choir conductor at the Festival of Young Artists Graz in Graz busy and since 2003 he is the musical director of the opera productions of the International classical music festivals in Schlosskirchplatz Stetten in Lower Austria. Since the 1999/2000 season he appeared in several productions of the opera house Graz and the singing school; last example in Giuseppe Verdi's "La Traviata ," Giacomo Puccini's " La Bohème", Gaetano Donizetti's " The favorite " Engelbert Humperdinck's " Hansel and Gretel", Leonard Bernstein's " West Side Story", Frederick Loewe's "My Fair Lady" and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's " The Magic Flute".
