Hoplestigma

Hoplestigma is a plant genus of the family Boraginaceae ( Boraginaceae ). The two species of this genus are native only to the tropics of the Western Africa.

Description

Hoplestigma species are deciduous trees. The alternate, stalked leaves are large and easily. The leaf margin is smooth. Stipules are absent.

The rolled zymöse inflorescence is terminal and has no bracts. The almost radial symmetry flowers are hermaphrodite. The two to four sepals are fused and end in unequal calyx lobes; the calyx remains on the fruit. The eleven to fourteen petals that are two to four circles are fused into a short tube and the Corolla lobe are at least as long as the corolla tube. In three circles are 20 to 35 free, fertile stamens. The two carpels are fused into a superior ovaries. The two pens are fused only at the base, with capitate scars. Stone fruits contain a core composed of four seeds.
