Formation and style

On Host Paradise Lost took before an utter renunciation of Metal. Passages to which Nick Holmes called with the life style designation Dark Rock applies are mixed with elements of synth-pop like Depeche Mode. The text will remain melancholic, but not take up the subject of death to the extent that the predecessors. The album was produced by Steve Lyon, guitarist Gregor Mackintosh took over the numerous representatives keyboard passages. The background vocals were taken at six titles of Shereena Smith.

Reception

Wrote Antti J. Ravelin of Allmusic, the album sounds like Depeche Mode with distorted guitars. The plate was a big step for the band, boring moments did not exist. He missed three out of five stars. Boris Kaiser wrote in Rock Hard: " host is also suitable for background music, a couple for intense listening pleasure and for the enjoyable hours. Which album has now been such an all-rounder? " The rating was 8.5 out of ten.
