House of Lacković

Noble family Lacković ( Laczkowitsch or Laczkovich, Hungarian Lackfi or Lackfy ) was an aristocratic family in the late medieval small combined Croatian -Hungarian Kingdom.

Historical Overview

The family comes from the ancient family of Herman ( ungar Hermany ), and, according to available sources, the counts of Raab from Nuremberg. The ancestors of the family came 995, along with the Duchess Gisela of Bavaria, the future wife of King Stephen I, Hungary. Other families: Mézes de Debreczen and Makray de Felpestes et Vízszentgyörgy.

The family was founded by Ladislaus (paint, or Laczk Lacko called ), Count of Székely Land ( ungar Székely ) in eastern Transylvania, in the first half of the 14th century. His followers were therefore " the sons of Lacko ," that is Lackovici called.

When the family had lost the " Bloody Assembly of Križevci " on February 27, 1397 assets and influence, most of the remaining members Kalnik Mountains found refuge in the region north of the city Križevci ( German: Kreutz ) and gradually integrated into the local nobility.
