Hradište, Partizánske District

Hradište (Hungarian Sziklavárhegy - to 1907 Szkacsányhradistye - older only Hradistye ) is a city and a municipality in western Slovakia, with 1027 inhabitants ( 31 December 2011). It is located in Okres Partizánske, a circle of higher administrative unit Trenčín Region.

Geography

Hradište is located in the northeastern corner of the Slovak Danube hilly area, more of the lower part Nitrianska pahorkatina ( Nitransky hills ) on the river Nitrica, a left tributary of Nitra and is located nine kilometers north of Partizánske and 20 kilometers west of Prievidza.

History

The time of origin of the place is still unclear, one assumes, however, that he was born sometime in the 9th century. A Romanesque church was built around 1096. Hradište (literally fortress ) is mentioned for the first time in 1232 as Haranenicha writing and belonged to a Christian order, which spread Christianity in the former Kingdom of Hungary, since 1424 the then Diocese of Nitra. More record dates from 1553, where in a tax register of the place Hradyscha 12 Porta be specified. In the same document is also claimed the existence of a castle-like facility in 1406. After 1777 the place belonged to Nitransky chapter. 1828 had 48 houses and 336 inhabitants Hradište. The main sources of income of the population were farming, fruit growing and weaving.

After the collapse of Austria - Hungary in 1918 and the Treaty of Trianon, the place came to Czechoslovakia.
