Huaca del Sol
The Huaca del Sol ( Temple of the Sun, also called Pyramid of the Sun ) is a pyramid, which was built in the Moche valley near Trujillo in northern Peru from the Moche. The plant was originally 340 m × 220 m tall and 41 m high and is located on a 18 m high terrace levels. It is the largest building of the massive continental America. For the construction of the seven-level building around 140 million adobe bricks were necessary.
The Spaniards destroyed a large part of the building after gold was found.
Compared to the Pyramid of the Sun is the Huaca de la Luna, the moon pyramid.
