Hugo Meurer

Hugo Meurer ( born May 28, 1869 in Sallach, Styria, † January 4, 1960 in Kiel ) was a German naval officer, most recently Vice Admiral.

Life

Meurer occurred on 16 April 1886 as a cadet in the Imperial Navy. He took in the First World War as commander of the battleship SMS Germany at the Battle of Jutland in part, did 1916-1917 service as a Captain in the United battleship SMS König and was born on October 14, 1917 Second as Rear Admiral Admiral of the Fourth Squadron of the High Seas Fleet.

From February 21 1918 to 2 May 1918, he led as head of the Special Association of Baltic marine expedition for the liberation of Finland. Furthermore, Meurer was Chief of the Naval Station of the Baltic Sea at Kiel and was transferred on January 8, 1920, with simultaneous promotion to Vice Admiral in retirement.
