Hüsamettin Cindoruk

Huesamettin Cindoruk ( born 1933 in İzmir ) is a Turkish politician and currently Chairman of the Democrat party Parti.

Cindoruk was born the son of Vasfi Bey and Ganimet Hanim in 1933 in İzmir. He graduated from the Çankaya Elementary School in Ankara and the Atatürk High School. 1954 graduated Cindoruk the Faculty of Law at the University of Ankara. In 1955 he began to work as a lawyer.

His political career began when he joined the youth wing of the Democrat particles of Adnan Menderes. In 1958 he left the party to act as a founding member of the Hürriyet Partisi. After the Committee of National Unity had a coup d'état on 27 May 1960 and the government members were indicted in the Yassıada processes, Cindoruk represented as a lawyer a total of 18 former MPs of the Democrat Parti. Among them was also the former President of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Refik Koraltan.

After political parties were allowed by the military again, Cindoruk involved in the Adalet Partisi, the Demokratik Parti, the Büyük Türkiye Partisi and the Yol Partisi Doğru as provincial party committee, a founding member and the Central Party Management Committee. At the party congress of the Yol Partisi Doğru May 14, 1985 Cindoruk was elected party chairman. After the political activity prohibition Süleyman Demirel was finished, he gave him his post. Cindoruk was between 16 November 1991 to 1 November 1995 President of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. In this role Cindoruk represented the State Minister of Turkey from 17 April 1993 to 16 May 1993, because of President Turgut Ozal died.

After the February 28 incidents in 1997 (28 Şubat süreci ) he left the Yol Partisi Doğru to establish the Democrat Türkiye Partisi (DTP ). The DTP participated under the leadership of Mesut Yılmaz in a coalition government in which Cindoruk but did not participate. After the DTP with only 0.58 percent of the votes did not reach the 10 percent threshold in the parliamentary elections of 1999, Cindoruk gave up his position as party chairman. On May 16, 2009 Cindoruk was elected at the 5th Congress of the Parti Democrat in the third round with 559 votes for party chairman.

Cindoruk is married and father of three children.
