The market hut mountain was on June 20, 1492 by Emperor Frederick III. awarded a coat of arms. The coat of arms ceremony coincided with the occupation of Salzburg possessions by imperial troops 1481-1494 during the " Hungarian War "; 1489 the fortified mountain hut was successfully defended against Hungarian troops. Perhaps on this occasion Friedrich gave the market the crest, the 1493 by King Maximilian followed the confirmation of privileges and coat of arms. The imperial claim to the Salzburgische mining area and the defense against the Hungarians make the interpretation as " canting " coat of arms ( " huts " the mountain " ) plausible.

The flag is black -yellow-red with integrated crest.
