Review

Thomas Waugh, Professor of Film Studies at Concordia University, discussed I'll Find a Way 1978 in Cinema Canada. First, he criticized on the one hand the " hype ", the publicity department of the NFB have done to the main character after the Oscar ceremony, the other is the long-standing Ignore good documentary films from his studio by the AMPAS. He judges, however, " the Oscar could not have happened to a nicer movie " ( German: The Oscar could have no finer film happen. ) And praises the restraint and intelligence of the film and Shaffer, which avoids sentimentality despite the emotional topic. In particular, he emphasizes the performance Nadia DeFrancos, from whose perspective the story of the film with confidence and without self-pity is told. He compares I'll Find a Way with the also Oscar-winning documentary short film Thursday's Children.
