Iain Vallance, Baron Vallance of Tummel

Iain David Thomas Vallance, Baron Vallance of Tummel, of Tummel in Perth and Kinross, FRSA ( born May 20, 1943) is a British civil servant, business managers and politicians of the Liberal Democrats, and since 2004 member of the House of Lords.

Life

Studies and Manager of Royal Mail

After visiting the Edinburgh Academy, the Dulwich College and the Glasgow Academy Vallence began studying subjects English Language and English Literature at Brasenose College, University of Oxford, where he graduated in 1965 with a Bachelor of Arts.

He then began his professional career in 1966 as an employee of the Royal Mail, the British Post Office, for which he worked until 1981. He was for a postgraduate degree in Business Administration from the London Business School ( LBS), London University, from which he graduated in 1972 with a Master of Business Administration (MBA ), 1976 Director of the Central Finance Department. After that, he was still there from 1978 to 1979 Director of Telecom Finance and most recently between 1979 and 1981 Director of the material department.

Ascent to the Chief Executive Officer of British Telecom and resignation

After completing his work at the Royal Mail Vallance joined 1981 in 1984 and privatized in 1991, BT Group renamed British Telecom.
