Ibrahim Okyay

Ibrahim Okyay ( born August 1, 1969 in Istanbul) is a Turkish racer. He won five times the Turkish Touring Car Championship

Career

Okyay began his motorsport career in 1992 in rallying. In 1995 he moved to touring car racing and was intermittently until 2009 in the Turkish Touring Car Championship active. During this time he won five times the Turkish Touring Car Championship.

His international motor racing career began in 2006 in the World Touring Car Championship ( WTCC). In a BMW 320i he took for Kosifler Motorsport race weekend at the Istanbul Park circuit part. His best finish was a 14th place. 2008 Okyay returned to the WTCC and denied in a BMW 320si for Borusan Otomotiv Motorsport for the complete season. He had no points and a tenth place was his best result. Okyay 2010 went to the European Touring Car Cup and finished fourth in the S2000 classification. In 2011, Borusan Otomotiv Okyay again for motorsport part in two race weekends of the WTCC. With a 13th place as best result he had no points.

Okyay is married with Elif and has one child.
