Ä°lhan Berk

İlhan Berk ( born November 18, 1918 in Manisa, † 28 August, 2008 Bodrum) was a Turkish poet and essayist.

As one of the most famous representatives of the so-called Yeni İkinci in Turkish literature, he had great influence on him a circle of subsequent poets.

Life

İlhan Berk was born in 1918 in the western Anatolian provincial capital of Manisa. A first book of poems he wrote at an early age. After a short teacher training in Balıkesir in 1945, he studied pedagogy and French in Ankara. Until 1955 he worked as a teacher, after which he worked until 1969 as a translator for the largest universal bank in Turkey TC Ziraat Bankası. In addition, dedicated Berk literary work. Work
