Ilya Krikunov

Ilya Olegovich Krikunov (Russian Илья Олегович Крикунов; born 27 February 1984 in Elektrostal, Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who is since May 2013 in Awtomobilist Yekaterinburg in the Kontinental Hockey League contract.

Career

Ilya Krikunov began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior department of Elemasch Elektrostal, for its first team, he was from 2001 to 2003 in the Wysschaja League, the second Russian league, active. During this period, he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in the seventh round in 2002 when a total of 223 players from the Vancouver Canucks, for whom he never played, however. Instead, he played from 2003 to 2005 for Chimik Woskressensk and after its relocation to 2008 for Moskovskaya Oblast Chimik in the Super League.

Moskovskaya Oblast Chimik was added to the 2008/09 season in the newly formed Continental Hockey League and changed its name to mark the occasion in Atlant Mytischtschi. For the club, however, denied Krikunov then only five KHL games in which he gave an assist, and then moved within the KHL to Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod. For torpedo he completed in the following 4 seasons over 200 KHL games, before he returned to Atlant in January 2013 in exchange for Jonas Andersson. In May 2013 he signed a contract with Awtomobilist Yekaterinburg, which is valid until the end of the 2014/15 season. At the beginning of the 2013/14 season he was used by Sputnik Nizhny Tagil Awtomobilist.

Internationally

For Russia Krikunov participated in the Under-18 Junior World Cup 2002, as well as the U20 Junior World Championship 2004 part. As of the 2002 Under-18 World Cup, he won the silver medal with his team.
