In Through the Out Door is the eighth studio album by British rock band Led Zeppelin. It was recorded in November and December 1978 in Stockholm and produced and released by Swan Song Records on 15 August 1979. The album reached the top spot in the U.S. charts.

The album's title stands for the problems that Led Zeppelin were happy enough with their work to go again to the public in the midst of the rising punk. It was as " to go through the exit to the inside" ( "getting in through the out door "). Work on the album took over, especially John Paul Jones, as Jimmy Page and John Bonham were in a personal crisis and Robert Plant could take no instrument parts. John Paul Jones felt for receiving Presence unable to deliver their own ideas, he could here, inspired by a new Roland synthesizer, more engaged his input again.

There are six different inside cover (Sleeve ) variants for this album. Show all the perspective of a person present in the bar. In some variants could affect the appearance of the sleeve by moistening with water. Hipgnosis in 1979 was nominated for the design of the cover in the category of Best Album Package Grammy.

The only single from In Through the Out Door was Fool in the Rain, with hot dog as a B-side. The song All My Love Robert Plant dedicated to his son Karac, had died in 1977, a more aggressive virus infection at the age of five years.
