Yellow Sea

The Incheon Bridge is a bridge section in South Korea with a total length of 12.3 km. The main bridge, a cable-stayed bridge with a maximum of 800 m span, is the world's fifth largest. The longest bridge in South Korea was officially opened after a little more than four years of construction on 26 October 2009.

The road bridge spans a watt Bay of the Yellow Sea and connects with three lanes for each carriageway New Songdo City, a resulting 2020 District of Incheon, Incheon Airport on the island of Yeongjongdo.

Construction

The cable-stayed bridge has a total span of 1480 m. The central opening has a span of 800 m, on both sides to close fields of each 260 m and 80 m span at. The vertical clearance for ships is 74 m. The 31.4 m wide road carrier has a hollow steel case with a steel composite section. The 238.5 meter high pylons have in the transverse direction in the form of a λ and consist of reinforced concrete. There are two cable layers are provided which are anchored at the edge of the bridge girder.

Both sides close to the zweihüftige cable-stayed bridge each 889 m long ramp bridges, each with a superstructure for a carriageway to. The amount spans 82 m, 5 × 145 m and 82 m. The structure was built using the balanced cantilever with established ashore prestressed concrete finished parts; the heaviest precast units have a weight of 1400 tons. The start or end portions of the bridge train stretch 50 m wide and consist of one per bridge span prestressed concrete precast for a direction of travel.
