Indian Grand Prix

The Grand Prix of India was held in the Formula 1 2011 season to the Formula 1 2013 season annually as race of the Formula 1 World Championship in India.

The race track, the Buddh International Circuit was built located about 50 kilometers south of Delhi in Greater Noida, has a length of 5,137 kilometers and was designed by the famous race track designer Hermann Tilke. The planned for spring 2011 completion date of the course, which has 150,000 seats and is part of a large sports complex that could not be met, the official handover took but 12 days before the first race date (30 October 2011). The construction cost of the route amounted 290 million euros.

Despite the very high for Indian average earner admission prices, the first Grand Prix on the course with 125,000 visitors was well attended.
