Intel 4040

The 4040 is a 4 -bit microprocessor by Intel and is the successor to the 4004th

It was produced from 1974 to 1981. The processor is compatible with its predecessor. The instruction set was expanded to 60 orders doubles the program memory 8 kB and the number of 4 -bit register is increased from 16 to 24. The stack for the calling of subprograms was extended to seven entries. Another new interrupts are possible.
