As Pentium Dual-Core Intel called a family of dual-core processors ( dual-core ) for laptops and notebooks that are placed as a low-cost processors in that they have relatively little L2 cache and other features are disabled. In addition, the processor clock in comparison with the other processors of the same micro-architecture is selected quite moderate.

Technical

The based on the Yonah core processors are offshoots of the Intel P6 microarchitecture, which were, however, significantly modified compared to older processors of this microarchitecture. On the Yonah core based processors simply do not have Intel 64

Newer versions based on the Merom core, however, are processors based on the Intel Core microarchitecture (which was developed based on the P6 architecture ) and support Intel 64

With the introduction in 2010 Pentium versions on Intel Westmere - based renounced the words " Dual-Core" in the name.

In June 2011, Intel Pentium versions on a Sandy Bridge - based. From the Core i processors of the same architecture, they differ in circumcised features, cache and clock rate.
