International DeeJay Gigolo Records
International Deejay Gigolos is a record label for electronic music, headquartered in Berlin and Munich branch.
The focus of the publications are in the fields of electro, house and techno with influences from 80s pop and disco. Founder and owner of the company is Helmut Geier, known by his stage name DJ Hell.
Creation and development
According to DJ Hell he was in the naming inspired by a conversation with techno -Star Jeff Mills. The label has existed since 1996. The Haupintention was, and is, according to the owners high-profile and well- crafted electronic music to bring a pioneering spirit and special features on the market. The label was initially a side project of DJ Hell. During the early days of International Deejay Gigolos, he released his album " Munich Machine " and several 12 inch singles such as "Suicide Commando " by the record company V2. By increasing brand awareness and contacts were finally able to develop a larger company it. 1999 was achieved with the single nuclear power 400, the first placement in the German charts.
Sales and target group
Sales in Germany takes over the distribution company Rough Trade, also for Germany and internationally, the company Neuton, for England Vital UK, the USA Caroline, for France Nocturne, for Italy Audioglobe for Spain PIAS, for Canada Fusion 3, for the Benelux News for Austria Inertia, for the Namskeio Switzerland, Portugal hallway and Soulseduction for Australia. Although the music genre label now belongs in most sales regions of the subculture, the target group is not set to certain social strata or currents.
Among the permanently connected artists of the label include DJ Hell himself, Tiga, Acid Maria, Miss Kittin, The Hacker, David Carretta, Doppler effect, Flippo Naughty Moscatello, Richard Bartz, UHU, Anthony " Shake" Shakir, Crossover, Kiko, Mick Wills, Play Paul, Station Rose, XLOVER, Abe Duque, Chris Korda, Experimental Products, LeNoir & Meriton, Fischerspooner, Oliver Huntemann, Kim peers, Psychonauts, Terence Fixmer, Tuxedomoon, Adriano Canzian, Christopher Just, Digitaria, Fat Truckers, G. Rizo, Jor- el, Martin Matiske, Mount Sims, The Dirty Criminals and Vitalic.
Other artists the remixes and other productions for the company are made among others Jeff Mills, Anthony Rother, Dave Clarke, Zombie Nation, Felix Da Housecat and The Advent.
Publications
By June 2006, the label had a total of 194 publications. Most issues there are in addition to CDs and vinyl records for DJs. Commercial relatively successful is the compilation series " International DeeJay Gigolos CD ". Of which there are far thirteen pieces. They consist partly of specially composed and produced tracks and remixes from older pieces.
At first vinyl records that have been released, the muscle silhouette of Arnold Schwarzenegger was used as a logo. After a dispute, this had to be taken off the market. There are partly publications in circulation, where the head of Schwarzenegger was pasted over. After the publications appeared with Sid vicous (also shown as muscle silhouette ) as a logo.
