Oliver Huntemann

Oliver Huntemann ( born June 19, 1968 in Hannover) is a living in Hamburg DJ, producer and remixer of electronic music. Through his numerous productions and remixes for the likes of Underworld, The Chemical Brothers and Depeche Mode, he has helped shape the genre significantly.

Biography

Growing up in Northern Germany Oldenburg, Oliver Huntemann was interested early on in contemporary music. He began to receive radio shows, his first maxi singles bought and experimented with a pair of belt-driven turntable. Oliver Huntemann was initially strongly influenced by the massive wave of North American youth culture that swept the late 70s to Europe: Rap, Graffiti & Break Dance and the protagonists of the scene such as Afrika Bambaataa, Grandmaster Flash and Whodini. Movies like Beat Street and Wild Style aroused his curiosity for breakdancing and DJing. Even at fourteen began Huntemann publicly hang plates.

Between the years 1984 and 1990 graduated from Oliver Huntemann trained as an electronics engineer in the German Navy. Following an internship and was followed by the appointment as editor of a city magazine in Bremen. As acid house late 80s found its way into the German clubs, he began to organize the first event with electronic music in his home town of Oldenburg. On one of these club nights he met the DJ and sound engineer Gerret Frerichs. The result of earlier sessions in Frerichs ' studio, where also the Jazz musician HG Schmidt was involved, was the project Humate. The first plates "Chrome " (1992) and " Love Stimulation " (1993) appeared on the Berlin label MFS.

Huntemann was responsible for numerous publications and projects in the following years. These include the establishment of the label Confused Recordings (1995), the construction of the Super 8 Studios, publications under his name, and the implementation of the alias "H -Man " and the "Recorder" series concept together with Stephan Bodzin. He is represented on labels such as Sven Väth 's Cocoon or Anthony Rother 's Datapunk. During his first album " Too Many Presents For One Girl" ( 2004) appeared on his own imprint Confused Recordings, " Fever " (2006) was chosen for a collaboration of Confused and DJ Hell's Gigolo Records for their second album.

In early 2007 appeared the live recording of a DJ gigs dated 29 September 2006 from the D - Edge club in Sao Paulo, Brazil, entitled PLAY! 01 The continuation of PLAY! 02 was recorded on 22 February 2008 at the Rex Club in Paris and released a short time later. For each of these mix compilations own single was produced: " Sao Paulo ep " and " Paris ep "

A further step was the creation of the label " Ideal Audio" (2008). In ideal he devoted himself primarily new music and emerging artists, as well as his own productions as Oliver Huntemann. Ideal is integrated into the label management of Plantage13 in Bremen. On Ideal released in April 2009, his now third artist album "H -3".

After remixes for sizes of the electronic music scene like Underworld, The Chemical Brothers, Depeche Mode and collaborations with Dubfire ( Deep Dish ), Oliver Huntemann has also made a name as a DJ worldwide.
