International Highrise Award

The International Highrise Award ( international name: International Highrise Award) is an award that is awarded by the city of Frankfurt am Main since 2003. Initiator of the award was the former Director of the German Architecture Museum in Frankfurt, Ingeborg flag.

Modalities

The prize is awarded every two years in the world for " buildings that are distinguished by particular aesthetics, pioneering design, urban integration, sustainability, innovative technology and cost ." Open only to newly constructed high-rise buildings that are at least 100 feet high. Eligible to participate in the competition brief are developers, planning authorities and other legal communities that are performed by architects or engineers. Together with them, the builders are excellent.

Organizer of the competition is the German Architecture Museum (DAM ) in Frankfurt, financial support is the DekaBank, which also has its headquarters in Frankfurt. Consultant in the nomination process is the Frankfurt-based company Emporis leading an international database to skyscrapers. The each time changing jury consists of four selected from DAM and DekaBank internationally renowned architects, engineers and architectural critics as well as a representative of Deka Bank, the City of Frankfurt and the DAM.

The International Highrise Award is endowed with 50,000 euros and a world created by the artist Thomas Demand of titanium metal statuette and a certificate. The jury may take up to four additional undoped awarded recognitions, so that a maximum of five finalists are possible. At the award ceremony each a catalog which presents the winners will appear.
