Ion Moldovan

Ion Moldovan ( born September 3, 1954 in Constanţa ) is a former Romanian football player and current coach. He played 158 games in the highest Romanian football league, the Divizia A. In season 1976/77 he won with Dinamo Bucharest, the Romanian championship. Since summer 2013 he has been head coach of CS Mioveni in the League II

Career as a player

The career of Moldovan began in 1973 at FC Constanţa in his hometown. After he came in his first two season only to a total of four bets, he was in the 1975/76 season to stem force. He then moved to the top club Dinamo Bucharest, which in 1976 /77 Romanian Cup won in the season. In the following years he came only in half of the games used. In the summer of 1980 he left Dinamo Bucharest to AS Victoria, before a year later returned to FC Constanţa. With his new club, he struggled in the two following years to the relegation. After relegation in 1983 he went with his team in the Divizia B. In the summer of 1984 he moved to league rivals Victoria Bucharest, with which he was able to rise in the summer of 1985 to the House of Lords. There he came in the 1985/86 season only four bets. After a year at Flacara Moreni he ended his career.

Career as a coach

After the end of his active career Moldovan worked as a football coach. In the summer of 1990, he took over Otelul Galati in Divizia B. With the club he managed in 1991, the rise in the Divizia A. At the beginning of the 1994/95 season he became head coach of his former club Dinamo Bucharest. After half a year he was sacked and replaced by Remus Vlad. In April 1995, it undertook UTA Arad, but he could not prevent the descent of the club. In the summer of 1996, he became head coach of FC Arges Pitesti. After one year parted ways again. End of October 2002, he again took over as successor to Vasile Stan Arges. He led the club to relegation twice before he was released in December 2004. In August 2006, he was the successor of Mihai Stoica at newly promoted Premiership Ceahlăul Piatra Neamţ, but had to leave again after two months.

In May 2009, Moldovan was head coach of Astra Ploieşti in Liga II and rose to the League 1, was released there after a few game days. He then coached the second team of Dinamo Bucharest in the League II From early 2011 until the end of 2012, he worked as a scout at Dinamo, before he again took over the second team. Since September 2013 he is responsible for the team of CS Mioveni in the Liga II.
